Annual Conference 2022

Once called Stumptown, and today known as the City of Roses, Portland, Oregon is home to an eclectic collection of world class gardens. We can think of no better place to come together and celebrate our national and international CommUNITY of Gardens and explore how gardens use their individual and collective power to champion connection, protection, and change.

Set along the beautiful Willamette River with the backdrop of majestic Mount Hood, Portland combines a sophisticated, cosmopolitan atmosphere with a refreshingly friendly, small-town warmth. In a state boasting 48% forest coverage and celebrated for its proximity to nature, Portland's metro area is scenic in its own right. The city has 37,000 acres of green space, including nearly 300 public parks, and 166 miles of trails.

Join us at the Hilton Hotel in the middle of Downtown Portland as we celebrate gathering in person again and celebrating the UNITY of our public gardens. You'll be within arm's reach of many of Portland's iconic restaurants, breweries, food trucks and, of course, donuts.

Enjoy the city's indie music and arts scene by attending a concert, strolling through art galleries, or getting lost at Powell's City of Books, the largest independent bookstore in the world. If you have the time, escape the city for a day to visit some of the Willamette Valley's excellent wineries, take a scenic drive along the Columbia River Gorge, or across the Coastal Range to the gorgeous Pacific Coast.

With truly something for everyone, Portland is the perfect city for reconnecting with each other and exploring how gardens reflect and enhance their commUNITY.
